Our trip

So like I said we went to Hershey, PA to visit Mel and Jon (Nate's sister and brother in law). The first day we went to Hershey's Chocolate World to learn all about one of my favorite subjects chocolate!
There was a ride that took you through the process of making chocolate. Then we could be factory workers. The kids pushed a button and filled a container with chocolate kisses. We also got these cool hats!

The next day we went to Hershey Park. This was Kace's favorite day. He loved the rides and we learned that Ty did too. There were quite a few that he could go on and lucky us got to go with him! He hated to wait in line though and would cry and whine when he had to wait. He even crawled under the gate and took off toward to ride.
I am proud to say that I went on two "adult" rides and did NOT get sick! WAHOO!!

We played a few of the games that they have there and Nate won a HUGE stuffed dog. I told him I wanted him to win me a prize because no one has ever done that for me before (you know how you always see the girlfriend carrying the prize that the boyfriend won for her). Anyway, he played this game where you have to toss a softball into a milk can (that has a little hole) just right and you win the big prize. Well he did it, so we got to have an extra checked bag on our way home just for the dog!

The next day we went to see the Amish. I couldn't believe how nice their gardens were, not a weed in sight and they were HUGE! We went to a little Amish farmers market-well it was little it was really big and busy. We saw lots of buggies and farmers working in their fields. It was very interesting. Oh, Mel told me that you could tell if it was an Amish house or not by if they had clothes out on a clothesline..........and the clotheslines were huge! I have tried uploading a picture of the clothesline three times and there is an error, so just imagine a HUGE line stretching across the entire yard, and it has lots and lots of clothes, towels, etc.
After the seeing the Amish we went to the outlets to go SHOPPING! It was a great trip!

Here we are in PA!

I know I know it has been a VERY VERY LONG time since my last post (thanks Heidi for pointing that out to everyone.....10 days to be exact). Here is a quick update on what we have been doing......

Last weekend we were very busy, we had Shelli Davis' bridal shower (she is getting married July 5) in Trenton before heading to my 10 year class reunion. It was a lot of fun and wasn't even near as bad as Nate thought it was going to be. On the way home he even said that if his class officers did something like that he MIGHT think about going to his. It was a pretty big deal that I even got him to go (he really MUST love me!) I only wish we had a little more time to visit with everyone.

On Wednesday (yesterday), we got on the airplane to go to Hershey, Pennsylvania to visit Nate's sister Melanie and her family. It was a LONG (though not as long as I thought it was going to be) flight, but we made it. We went to Herhey's chocolate world today and learned all about one of my favorite topics......chocolate! We are now back at their house having naptime :) It is so beautiful and green out here, and as Mel said, "We don't have tall mountains, but we sure have tall trees!" The thing I really love is the moment you walk outside you can smell the chocolate. It smells all the time like someone is making brownies........YUMMMM!

The picture is just a cute one Mel had of Ty when she was visiing Utah in May. I posted it becaues I know a post is BORING without pictures (right Kami?)

Poor Elmo

An update on Ty, being a Mom and paranoid I took him in (the next day his eye was completely swollen shut, he couldn't open it at all......and of course he just had an allergic reaction to a mosquito bite, but better safe than sorry right?!

About the title of POOR ELMO, this last week Kace had a friend over and I always enjoy a good "kid" conversation. I think it is fun to see how they communicate with each other. Anyway here is how it went (they didn't know I was listening!).....They had just walked into Kace's room.......

Friend after seeing the stuffed elmo, "Do YOU like ELMO?"
SILENCE.............
Kace, "um..........NO!"
Friend, "Oh good, because if you did, you'd be stupid!"
Kace, "Yea, it's my BROTHERS, I just let him keep it in my room!"

I just thought it was so funny and interesting on how even at that age you conform to what other's think.

Nate had a great time fishing this last weekend with his dad, mac, isaac (his brothers) and Dave Auger. Nate and his brother Isaac caught the two biggest fish I have EVER seen. They were very very good. They were probably even better because Nate is the fish cooker at our house (I always enjoy that!) The picture on the left is the fish they caught on the first night. Nate's fish is the biggest one. The other fish are big too, but the BIG ONE really makes them look small. The pic on the right is of Isaac's fish. They had a great time!

I wonder what happened during the night.......

This morning when we woke up Tydon's eye was nearly swollen shut. We can't figure out what happened. He didn't cry in the night......he didn't fall (that we know of :) ) there wasn't a bee or wasp that I could find in his room......it was all very weird. It isn't black or blue just red. It is looking a little bit better now, but is still quite swollen. very interesting..............
