Summer of the weddings.....wedding one!

This past week Nate's little brother Mac got married to Jessica Rounds. They started "going out" before Mac was sixteen (she is a year older than he) and dated pretty much ever since. She got home from her mission (to Guatemala) on May 5 and he got home from his on May 9 (Philippines). So it worked out pretty nicely for them, it is almost like they planned it.....but didn't!

They had a wedding social (because they didn't want a reception) on Monday night at her parents home in Preston. So a few friends and family got together and enjoyed cheesecake and each other. Ty was wandering outside and of course found a swarm of wasps and proceeded to get stung 5-6 times. That was fun...............then we went home shortly after that. He actually did pretty good and only cried for a little bit, which really surprised Nate (he hates getting stung).

The next day we traveled down to the Salt Lake Temple for the wedding and dinner. Nate's mom had asked a couple of his cousins to come and help watch the kids during the sealing and the lunch so we could enjoy the day, but they could still be in the pictures. So it rained (wouldn't you know, the only day it has rained all summer) all while we were in the temple and while we were waiting for them to come outside, but once they came outside it stopped (luckily for them)!

Ty of course was good right up to when they came out and then he had had it. It was WAY past his nap time and he was TIRED. He of course proceeded to throw himself down on the WET ground and throw his fit.

Kace was just happy to be with his cousins.

I wanted to get a nice family picture of our family at the temple before my camera died--I don't know why Kace feels like he has to make weird faces in EVERY picture.

This is the last picture I got before my camera batteries died--what a fun bunch! I hope they got one decent picture of all of us before the day was over :) After Ty threw his fit and got all wet and dirty Nate had to handle him because I was wearing a white skirt (hmmmmm, maybe I planned it! j/k)

Mac and Jess looked very happy and we are very happy for them and the choices they have made to get to this point in their lives. It is nice to have great aunts and uncles to be good examples to our boys.

Stay tuned in a few weeks for wedding number two!

Tball come and gone........just like everything else this summer!

Well, we started tball in June and I had good intentions of posting it when it started. Somehow the time got away from me and I didn't post ANYTHING! So now tball is over (and we are glad it is-it's not quite as fun as soccer) but Kace sure enjoyed it.

His favorite part was hitting the ball (of course) and playing first base. Really the only positions that ever touched the ball at all was the pitcher (they don't actually pitch of course, but only pretended to pitch--the windups of some kids were pretty funny and dramatic!), catcher (on our team this position was called the "ball boy") and the first baseman. So we all had to take turns
rotating at these three positions.

This last picture is kindof blurry (sorry), but Nate wanted to show of the "monster catfish" he caught in the river in front of our house. He is in the process of digging a pond in the back pasture and so the fish is now in the "small pond" swimming around. It is the ugliest fish I've ever seen! With Nate, kace and Ty is Nate's (and mine too!) good friend Dave Auger and his daughter Kylie.

AHHHH, the memories!

Memories

1. As a comment on my blog, leave one memory that you and I had together. It doesn't matter if you knew me a little or a lot, anything you remember!

2. Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you. It's actually pretty funny to see the responses. If you leave a memory about me, I'll assume you're playing the game and I'll come to your blog and leave one about you. If you don't want to play on your blog, or if you don't have a blog, I'll leave my memory of you in my comments.

Fourth of JULY!

We spent our fourth of July at our annual town celebration. Nate (the party pooper :) ) didn't want to go to the breakfast so we had cereal at home and then headed to the park. We got there in time for the parade which consists of going around in a circle about three times. It is really cute and the kids get so excited about it. Kace picked out his costume this year. The cape is a superman cape and he had his safety glasses (that look more like sunglasses) from his nerf tag game, but didn't want to put them on at the last minute!

We then had the "kids games" and races. Kace loves these! Next was the all time favorite,......THE CANDY DROP! An airplane comes and drops candy on the field and the kids run their hearts out to get some. Ty wasn't too excited about the entire day. He just wanted to go home, so finally Nate just took him home and put him to bed (not that Nate minded going home).

We had lunch and a water balloon launch and just had fun playing with friends. That night we had a good time together doing sparklers and pop its. It was a great day!
Ty has been having so much fun with the hose this summer. He uses it to defend himself and gets anybody that comes near him!

Take the test!

I thought this would be a fun test and judging from the results.....it is! I always like taking a test telling me how wonderful I am. I guess I might have lied just a little!
