Fair, Dinosaur Park and first day of school

Well the day has finally come to send Kace off to school. He has been so excited for today and couldn't wait until it was time to GO! Unfortunately we have afternoon kindergarten and so we have to wait until AFTER lunch. He was so excited to ride the bus, but there aren't enough kids to make a bus route, so they are paying the parents to drive their kid to school each day. (STINK!) oh, well at least I only have one other kid to load up each day. Kace's class has 15 students, 10 of which are boys. Poor, poor teacher.

Nate's mom and dad invited us to go up with them to their old bishop's condo at Wolf Creek. We went up last week and had a great time visiting, swimming and playing basketball. We spent the night and in the morning Kace decided he would really like to go to the dinosaur park. So off we went. I was really surprised about how scared Ty was with the dinosaur. He wouldn't let go of my leg most of the time. Kace of course loved it, but really wished we would have invited a friend for him to have fun with (next time we will!)

I tried to get TY in it too, but it just didn't work out that well.

The fair was last weekend. I had no idea how big the fair was until I moved to Elwood. The BE County Fair is HUGE here. Everybody goes............so we did to and had a great time with our friends looking at the animals and tractors. Anybody who knows Ty knows his great LOVE for tractors, 4-wheelers, etc so it was really hard to pull him off. I tried numerous times to get a picture of him on the tractor, but of course he always moved and they were all blurry, so maybe next time.

Only 5 more days until BYU games start! RISE AND SHOUT! :)

Summer of weddings..............wedding #2

Well Kami's (my sister) wedding finally came. She married Erik Paul on August 7 in the Logan LDS temple. She looked beautiful! We are so glad she met Erik! He is a really great guy and we couldn't be happier for them!
Kami and Erik met at FHE last year in October (I think, she didn't really tell us because she didn't want to say anything if it didn't last....she's weird that way)

Here is our family after the sealing, Kace just can't stand to have a normal face in a picture.

They didn't have a reception (thanks) so we just met at the temple and enjoyed a nice sealing. Of course all the temple workers were paranoid that dad wouldn't make it on time because he wasn't there 1/2 early like he was supposed to. The ladies kept coming in and asking me "where my dad was?" I told them he would be here right at 1:29 (they got married at 1:30), but he beat my expectations and was about 5-10 minutes early. One of the temple workers went into the bride's room and asked my mom if her husband was a farmer?! She said her husband was a farmer and he was always late! We thought that was funny!

My dad, Nate, Kace and Ty. My dad is the cousin my boys never had, he plays and plays and plays with the boys. He also can't say NO-at least to them, he definitely could say it to me when I was growing up.

Maybe someday they will have children of their own!

We then enjoyed a nice dinner at Maddox (YUM raspberry butter and rolls!) , I was stuffed! Thankfully the waitress let us take a box of rolls home (thanks Clayton for being the first to ask). Pathetic I know, but they are really good!

The third and fourth weddings I didn't take pictures at, but they were this last week. Our friend and neighbor Shaliese got married to Zenoch Bishop (Rob Bishop's son--) and Nate got to be the witness for that sealing so that was neat for him. And my cousin got married last week also, so we have been busy with all the weddings!

HE HAD IT ALL PLANNED! :) What a small favor for me to do!

We had a great time, even mom who was so nervous to go! Trenton 24th of July festivities

For as long as I can remember the Trenton 24 of July festivities has been one of my favorite activities of the year. It has changed throughout the years, but is still SOOOO FUN! Kace was very excited this year, because he remembered last year. We didn't make it to the breakfast, but after breakfast there is this awesome parade that goes around the block twice. Kace really likes this parade because there is a LOT of candy (all the kids from Trenton are in the parade so there aren't too many watching). Kami and I had to teach him how to better get the candy. He was picking up each individual piece and putting it in his bag, clearly the more logical way to gather would be to pick up multiple pieces at a time. Then when the parade had gone around once we pulled out our other sack (to make it look like he didn't have much candy of course!).

After the parade we have all the games. There is a zip-line (Kace loves this!), a rock wall, bounce house, volleyball, plinko, fish pond and other little kid games.

Cortney, Clayton and Heidi had a race to the top. I think Clayton won, but I'm not too sure about it.

Kace LOVED the rock wall......he would have done it all day if I would have let him. He hardly used his legs at all he just pulled him up with his arms. He made it to the top and was so proud when he touched the button at the top.

New this year was the hippity hop race. I took it upon myself to participate in the hippity hop. You had to have the best time at the end of a three hour period. I had to keep coming back and checking my time (a couple of times I had to do it over so I could be in the top three........SHELLI!) Anyway, I finished in 2 place, should have been first, but it is really a workout and a little 14 year old took first away!

The prize was a cool squirt gun, which I hid from Kace and will probably give him for some present in the future :)

Kami thought she was a better hopper than I because she had more air, BUT she just didn't get my picture at just the right time!



Kace got a shark painted on his face (Karen Cottle was the artist!)

After the games we had lunch and watched Heidi, Clayton and Cortney (my siblings) play in the volleyball tournament (which they won)

Then the foam came....the firemen bring their firetrucks and spray all this water and foam on the soccer fields. The kids run and get all wet having a great time.


Here is Kace and Clarissa (anna keen's daughter). Kace was excited about the foam, but really didn't want his shark to come off. He decided to go in it when I told him it would have to come off anyway that night.

Later that afternoon we went to the homerun derby where Heidi, Cortney, Brandon and I participated. None of us won, but we had a good time!

I went home a little early this year and missed the dinner and fireworks (Nate had to work, so I came home to be with him), but Kace stayed over at Grandma and Grandpa's and had a great time!

Trenton was such a fun place to grow up :)
